Performance and Handling Choices
The 2021 Cadillac XT6 and 2021 Lincoln Aviator come in several trims with various features, options, and powertrains. The XT6 comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with front-wheel drive. Buyers can choose a peppier 3.6-liter V6.
The four-cylinder delivers 237 horsepower while the V6 provides 310 horsepower. Buyers can also add all-wheel drive. All engines and drivetrains come with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The 2021 Lincoln Aviator comes with a 3.0-liter V6 with twin-turbocharging that delivers 400 horsepower. This is the only engine unless buyers choose the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring trim that comes with a hybrid 100-hp electric motor and 13.6-kWh battery. The standard drivetrain is rear-wheel drive with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose to add optional all-wheel drive or buy the Black Label trim that has all-wheel drive as a standard feature.
When it comes to fuel economy, the Cadillac crossover slightly outperforms the Aviator. With the four-cylinder engine, the Cadillac has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21/27 MPG. The 3.0-liter V6 Aviator has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 18/26. However, buyers who choose the hybrid Aviator can enjoy up to 18 miles of electric driving as well as unlimited hybrid power that delivers approximately 50 MPG according to the EPA.
